[Whoever told the new arrival, Greed, that everything is free must be feeling pretty guilty right now. He first tears through the clothing ship, donning his own clothes and carrying off everything else he thinks belongs in his wardrobe.

...And then he makes his way to the item shop. Dear god, the item shop. After locating some type of satchel, he begins snatching up every item and stuffing it in there. New Feathers' possessions. Some late arrivals for other citizens. Greed thinks he wants it too, and he's collecting it all in a manic rage, which is formed from combination of the thrill of being alive again, the sheer excitement of free stuff and the bitter disappointment that the store didn't have any of his own possessions. He's being pretty loud and obnoxious about it too - laughing loudly and intimidating others by flashing his Ultimate Shield. One could probably hear this ruckus from outside.

But don't let him take your items. Stand your ground, whoever you are, be you New Feathers or seasoned veterans. Point out your item that Greed has taken and do what you can to reclaim it. And there is a specific item in store for the first character from the world of the Avatar to notice this mess.]

[Later that day, after Greed has settled down...]

Heh. No such thing as "no such thing," I guess...

Listen up, everyone. The name's Greed. I guess you could say I'm new here. Some of you here may already know me, a lot of you will not. I have a pretty straightforward name, I know, but why act like I'm something I'm not? I'm just a guy who wants a lot of things.

I know I sound like some kind of selfish bastard, but if you think about it, wanting something doesn't necessarily make you bad. So what do you want, my new friends? Wealth? Glory? Sex? Power? Friendship? Eternal life? Let me know. I'll get real a kick out of what you guys think.

Oh, I'm Rei. Rei Hino. Its nice to meet you. Why...do they call you Greed? Or is it really that you just want a lot of things?

I'm kind of a personification of Greed. Or one person's greed, you could say. So you could see why I'm just a little hung up on the subject.

I figured you weren't entirely human, but that makes sense. Are you a spirit of some sort? Or...something else?

A homunculus. Artificial human, if you don't know what that is. A piece of someone's soul, their avarice, brought to life.

[Crazy Western magic...that's pretty far out even for her]

So...you were created with magic? Why would anyone, no offense, want to remove part of their soul to make a Homunculus?

[Not that she thinks YOU are bad, just that messing with souls is bad]

I'm not sure if magic's the right word. It's closer to what's called alchemy in my world. As for the why? Well, pretty much a sick old man, a homunculus himself, thinking he can perfect himself by getting rid of the seven deadly sins.

So, do you just have one sin? Or are you capable of the other six?

I pretty much am one sin. But there is some overlap. Lusting for others and being gluttonous is all part of wanting something and getting it - but I stop myself from being a fatass from my brother. Sometimes I'm lazy and want other people to do things for me. And, as much as I hate Envy, I do find myself envying what other people have that I don't. As for Wrath... when I get angry, I get angry.

And...are you capable of virtue as well?

[That question came from a slightly spooked voice. She doesn't really want to fight with you Greed, since you seem new, and...fairly reasonable. But if you're really evil, prepare to be punished in the name of Mars.]

I've come to realize that I just may be. Maybe there's a few more similarities with human than I used to think. But it's not like I plan to become the embodiment of charity or anything. Me still comes first, most of the time.

Well thats good to know. I'm not really in the practice of making friends with monsters. [Her brief moment of nervousness passes, and she laughs a bit. ]

[He chuckles.]

Hey, some monsters can make downright pleasant company. Of course, it all depends on who's applying the name "monster".

You and I probably have a very different definition of monster. There are wicked creatures in my world...with strange powers and really unsettling goals.

You...don't feel like one of them though, so...I don't really think a homunculus is the same sort of being.

[But make no mistake...she'll end you if you touch Usagi]

That's pretty kind of you. But you should know that the other homunculi are a lot closer to that definition of monster. If you ever see one, I recommend that you keep killing them until they're dead.

I'll keep that in mind. Do they have names like you? Or...are they less open about their nature?

[Rei nods to herself, rubbing her chin. She doesn't really get a sense that Greed is...lying about anything, and its worth being wary, but she'll afford him a measure of kindness until proven otherwise. He's interesting...]

Also, I appreciate your honesty. Its always nice to make new friends, and the truth is a foundation for such things.

Oh, each of them's a different sin, like me. They're much more open about it and demonstrating what they're named for. Often in a killing way.

Well...I suppose Greed is one of the sins that allows one to fit in with regular people.

[She's going to infer though, that Greed HAS hurt people...]

Have you met any others here yet? Can you tell me about what they look like?

I've been talking to that rat, Envy. Short, swirly green hair and the worst clothes you could imagine. It can look like pretty much anything, actually, but it prefers to look like a little freak. Envy could be dangerous, but without anyone to boss him around and with the number of people from my world here, I don't think there's much to worry about.

Envy is a shapeshifter? That...sounds like it could be really bad. Is there any way to tell him apart from another person?
